Tanzania: Clean Water for Communities – Overcoming Water Scarcity

We install AppTech rainwater harvesting systems in rural Tanzanian communities to provide safe, year-round drinking water.

In many rural regions of Tanzania, water scarcity leads to significant health risks and hygiene-related diseases. This project addresses the challenge by using Schools as Hubs for Change. By installing rainwater harvesting systems directly on school roofs, we create a reliable infrastructure to filter and store clean water throughout the year, even during dry seasons.

Our approach focuses on Appropriate Technology (AppTech) that is easy to maintain and built with sustainable materials. Beyond infrastructure, the project emphasizes water safety training programs for students and staff. As the children learn about clean water and hygiene, they act as change agents, spreading this vital knowledge back to their families and the wider community, effectively building local resilience against water-borne illnesses.
